Abstract:

This study investigates the design process of military electronic enclosures by proposing a structured evaluation framework that integrates durability, environmental protection, thermal management, electromagnetic compatibility, and security requirements. Unlike review-based works, this article develops a systematic methodology to assess design alternatives and applies it to exemplary case designs. By comparing enclosure configurations through material selection, manufacturing approaches, and protective strategies, the study provides concrete insights into how design criteria affect performance, safety, and operational reliability. The findings highlight the necessity of modularity, rapid assembly/disassembly, and advanced cooling techniques in future military enclosure designs. The proposed framework serves as a reference for engineers and designers aiming to enhance both functional reliability and operational security in defence applications.
